Where does the tuition take place? We teach in person at The Imperial Centre, Grange Road, DL3 7SY. Our office is above the Imperial Express Cafe on Northumberland Street. There are 2 ways to enter the building. One on Grange Road and the other on Northumberland Street. The online maths tuition and Year 6 SATs course both take place via Zoom.
-
Is the tuition one to one?All children are planned for and taught individually. There may be up to 3 students in each session.
-
What subjects do you teach? We teach English and maths and follow the National Curriculum. We work towards the SATs and GSCE exams.
-
What ages of children and year groups do you teach? We teach primary and secondary students and complete work which will support them as they approach their SATs and GCSE exams. The youngest children we work with are in Year 3 (7 years old) and the oldest is Year 11 (16 years old). We do also work with children who are resitting their English and/or maths GCSE.
-
Do you help with homework? We can support your child with their homework. Some children have paper homework which they bring in while others have homework which they can access on the computer. If they have homework which needs to be accessed on the computer, they will need to know their login details. We do not provide homework each week, however we sometimes send work home to be completed if we feel it will help the child or if they ask for extra work.
-
Does my child need to bring anything with them? No, unless they want to. Some children prefer to use their own equipment while others use ours. We also provide worksheets, exercise books and education websites to support your child with their learning. Once we get to know how your child prefers to learn, we will plan activities which cater for this.
-
How does payment work?Payment is required in advance for all sessions during the school term. This payment is to be made before the start of each half term. Our preferred method of payment is by bank transfer. If your child is unable to attend a session and you would like to rearrange, we will try to facilitate this if we are informed at least one day in advance.
